Behind the Design at Two Fifty One (posted 10th November 2017)
We know you like to have a look at what we’ve been working on. So in today’s blog we’re showing you around a show home that was recently installed, Two Fifty One in Southwark, London, for Hyde New Homes. The brief was to create a design for aspiring young professionals, particularly first-time buyers, drawing on the character of the surroundings and creating a contemporary and slightly quirky scheme.
Interior Designer, Leonnie Whitehead was inspired by the location. “Being in zone 1 we wanted a city sleek feeling while still introducing the vibrant accents of South London, such as the neon lighting above the bed in the second bedroom.”
“The area is regenerating, so it was important for the design to feel aspirational. The pink chair in the living room was an inspiring statement piece that influenced the rest of the design. We repeated the bright pink pops of colour throughout the scheme. This is very successful against the monotone palette.”
The neon sign was inspired by neighbouring Ministry of Sound, this is softened by the faux fur and florals.
The warm wood with the concrete lamp and embossed metal detailing of the bedside table create a captivating combination.
The master bedroom is elegant with a funky twist.
The geometric shapes of the Arte wallpaper are mirrored in the cushions.
The inspiration behind the design! The feature piece that stands out in the room and draws in the eye with the monochrome background, marbles and metalics.
Light, bright and airy with the graphic patterns on the cushions. Combined with the natural wood to give a mellow and organic feel.
The winter garden, an inviting balcony oasis to enjoy a cocktail or two.
Have a great weekend,
