Happy camping! (posted 3rd September 2015)
Having just spent a week in the very beautiful and rather wet Lake District, I’m intrigued by how design influences an experience, in this instance, camping. For example warm trousers that wick away the water and are quick drying are essential, as are waterproofs. And these should be considered standard in any camper’s luggage. For as we experienced, all four seasons should be expected in one day.
So how can we embrace nature and all she has to shower us with, while creating a comfortable and pleasant environment? While preparation is key, a well-designed, practical tent can make the difference between warm and wet, enjoyable or miserable.
Then there are also the tents that look amazing, but hopefully you’ll be arriving to it set up already and won’t have to labour over exacting the folds while pondering over exactly how to get everything back into the very small bag! Here are a couple of rather intriguing tent designs!
And then there are the caravan designs that take being an outdoors person to a new level!
The Sealander Caravan - an amphibious caravan
The campervan caravan car!
The geometrica caravan
