Illuminating the Night Sky (posted 11th December 2015)

Dark afternoons with a bright, happy ending… I’m referring to the illuminated gardens that come to life at this time of year. Syon Park plays host to the Enchanted Woodland, which unfortunately has now closed for the year, but to which one of our designers, Sharon, went to over the weekend (put it in your diaries for next year).

According to Sharon “The one at Syon Park is really low key and gorgeous and finishes in the Atrium with a crazy laser show…the kids have never seen anything like it as they weren’t ravers in the 90’s!”

There are also several other venues across the country who use lights to bring their landscapes to life. Kew Gardens plays host to Christmas at Kew, open until the 2nd January. Their winter trail is a one-mile ‘sparkling path’ that winds through the world famous botanic gardens

Or you may prefer to visit Christmas Glow at Wisley until the 3rd January, Stockeld Park until the 4th January, Winter Light at Waddesdon (with light art by Bruce Munro) or meander along the illuminated trail at Westonbirt’s National Arboretum until the 20th December.

So let there be light! Have a great weekend,

Lucinda
