Showhome Showcase : an eclectic haven in Portobello (posted 14th June 2012)

We love it when a client gives us a brief with a direction towards unique and personal, to create a show home that tries to do something a bit different, and doesn't feel the need to err on the side of generic and bland and safe.

So when a loved and valued long term client and friend started work with Catalyst by Design (a company that is undertaking a ten year regeneration of the Wornington Green estate in North Kensington) and asked us to design a two bedroom show apartment for their Portobello Square development that reflected local tastes and trends; that sourced quirky and unusual items from the very Portobello Road that the development sits on, we were delighted to be able to go to town and design and style an apartment with personality and interesting finds at every turn.

Wallpapers from Designers Guild, Andrew Martin and Elitis, combined with individual furniture finds; metal and leather trunks, chromed directors chairs, silver gilded rams head bedroom chairs, mirrored metal furniture, butlers tray table bedsides, bespoke painted petrol blue ornate mirrors, retro inspired cross backed dining chairs; all complemented by cushions, throws, artwork and accessories from here, there and everywhere (I enjoyed the shopping for this scheme!).

We love the end result, the client loved the end result, the purchasers loved the end result, we hope you do too!
