Pantone's Prince Purple (posted 16th August 2017)
Pantone yesterday unveiled their Prince Purple, known as Love Symbol #2. Developed alongside The Prince Estate with the Pantone Colour Institute it was inspired by the musician's purple Yamaha piano. Named after the 'love symbol' that combines both the female and male symbols and which Prince used instead of a name for several years.
Love Symbol #2
The Pantone Colour Institute's vice president, Laurie Pressman said: "We are honoured to have worked on the development of Love Symbol #2, a distinctive new purple shade created in memory of Prince, 'the purple one.' A musical icon known for his artistic brilliance, Love Symbol #2 is emblematic of Prince’s distinctive style. Long associated with the purple family, Love Symbol #2 enables Prince’s unique purple shade to be consistently replicated and maintain the same iconic status as the man himself."
Let the purple reign continue!
