Suna Interior Design holds an Interior Design Master Class (posted 22nd July 2013)
As part of a community outreach programme, our directors, Helen Fewster and Rebecca Tucker, held an interior design master class for sixth form design students from Newham College last week. The class was held at Triathlon Home’s East Village, E20, previous site of London 2012 Olympic Village.
The aim of the day was to give the students insight into what the job entails, while teaching them the key principals of interior design, including: structure and layout, furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, lighting and understanding the client.
Joining the day was Olympian and Britain’s number one 400m hurdler, Perry Shakes-Drayton. The students got to present their mood boards to her and she, in turn, created her own mood board for one of the apartments in the East Village.
“The day was an overriding success. We are aware of the necessity for people who are in the industry and who have experience to be involved and to have contact with the future generation of designers” said Helen and Rebecca. “We hope that we imparted to them how great and fulfilling the world of interior design is.”
