Week 4: Glass and light in the dust (posted 15th March 2013)
This week I arrived at a very dusty construction site, but one where progress is visible. The plaster boards are now all up, and have been sanded where dry - hence the dust. Although all of the construction is taking place indoors, there is no heating, meaning that everything takes just a little longer to dry.
This week the re-glazing has also begun - all the broken and stippled glass is being replaced with clear new glass, and in the process creating a well ventilated site.
We were all very excited at the beginning of the week when the 19 industrial-utilitarian burnished metal light shades were delivered. They are in the process of being hung, and we can't wait to see the final effect.
