Where we stay: The Wild Rabbit (posted 16th October 2015)
During the summer one of our designers, Elle and her husband Ryan visited The Wild Rabbit located in Kingham in the scenic Cotswolds. They loved it so much it’s our featuring in our first ‘Where We Stay’ blog!
“We stayed for two nights at The Wild Rabbit, spending the daytimes roaming the beautiful Cotswolds countryside and the evenings trying out The Wild Rabbit’s incredible menu (and cocktails). The interior of both the bar/ restaurant and the rooms was beautiful and well considered. Bicycles available to hire, sunhats hung up along the front of the pub for people to borrow whilst enjoying the sun on their outdoor terrace. The design epitomised understated luxury with exposed brickwork, hand crafted furniture mixed with eclectic artwork and styling. We will definitely be going back there!”
The Wild Rabbit is a re-invention of the traditional English inn – a place to eat, drink and sleep. Serving locally sourced, seasonal food in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Renovated in 2013, this 18th century pub serves a combination of artisan beers (as well as some more familiar ales) and their wine list includes small independent vineyards and locally sourced produce.
The interiors comprise stripped back walls, open fires and simple, hand crafted furniture. Their 12 rooms combine pared down style with honest creature comforts: great mattresses, pure linen sheets and beautifully presented bathrooms.
The Wild Rabbit even have a range of products available to purchase, such as their beautiful stick-back chairs which were initially commissioned as a project to make 50 unique chairs for them. The Ash wood is seasoned and turned in a method known as bodging, with no two chairs the same and each stamped with its own number.
