TWENTY QUESTIONS

QUESTION ONE : DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS.

Passionate, driven, outspoken

QUESTION TWO : GIVE US A QUICK RUN DOWN OF A TYPICAL DAY AT SUNA FOR YOU?

Never the same day twice. I could be collaborating with the design team on their schemes, visiting an installation, attending an awards ceremony, forecasting and developing the business plan, head down reviewing a new 80 page legal contract document (yawn), contributing to a podcast/IG Live or meeting a new client to tell them how amazing we are. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

QUESTION THREE : WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SUNA PROJECT?

Not possible, I have 20 years of projects to choose from. My favourites move way too frequently to pick just one.

QUESTION FOUR : TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOU WE WOULD NEVER GUESS?

I’d like to think my age but I think that ship has sailed. I was born in a small fishing village in South Devon call BEER. Actually I was literally born in Exeter which is the nearest place with a hospital closest to Beer but we were living in Beer at the time. Moved away when I was twelve but still love the salty smell of the see, takes me right back.

QUESTION FIVE : IF YOU HAD £1,000,000 WHAT WOULD YOU SPEND IT ON?

A second home in France and spend chunks of my year trying to recreate ‘Escape to the Chateux’ like Dick and Angel. Although my husband is no where near as capable as Dick so that might be a pipe dream.

QUESTION SIX : FAVOURITE FOOD/DRINK?

You can’t go wrong with an amazing home cooked roast dinner with all the trimmings. But that might be a bit obvious. Fresh crab is a truly nostalgic delight. Takes me back to when my mum would buy live crabs right off the boats when we lived in Beer and she’d cook them fresh and we’d eat them off some newspaper on the kitchen table. Yum!

Drink wise I would generally steer towards some type of slightly sweet but sharp cocktail but to be honest the drink I have the most is big mug of not too milky not too strong builders tea.

QUESTION SEVEN : LEAST FAVOURITE FOOD/DRINK?

I eat pretty much anything so my least favourite food isn’t very specific, I would say bland food is the biggest disappointment. Smack me in the face with flavour please.

Drink wise, anything with oat/soya/whatever the new trend of milk is, yuk!

QUESTION EIGHT : FAVOURITE FILM?

Kinda depends what decade you’re in but one that I always come back to and have to carry on watching to the end if I come across it on the TV is Crazy Stupid Love. There are millions of others I absolutely love but that’s the one that jumped into my head.

QUESTION NINE : FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION?

Somewhere with sunshine where I can chill with a good book and a cold drink and just while away the hours.

QUESTION TEN : WHAT ARE YOUR TOP THREE PET PEEVES?

  • Having to repeat myself too many times

  • People dropping teabags or other food detritus into the sink and leaving it there

  • Getting hogged by one person at a party or dinner when the conversation on the other side of the table sounds way more interesting

QUESTION ELEVEN : What does an ‘ideal weekend’ look like for you?

Hanging out with family and/or friends eating great food and drinking. Throw in a trip to the theatre and a dog walk and I am in heaven.

QUESTION TWELVE : What is your favourite ROOM IN YOUR HOUSE?

Currently my newly completed downstairs loo is my favourite place in my house. Who knew such a small space could look so good.

QUESTION THIRTEEN : Do you believe in ghosts and/or aliens?

NO

QUESTION FOURTEEN : When have you felt the most proud?

When you have kids you hope to feel proud of them every day and I luckily have a pretty incredible daughter that does just that. She blows me away in so many ways but being non judgmental is right up there. She has grown up to be the most tolerant, open and understanding person who totally keeps me in check

QUESTION FIFTEEN : If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?

Potato in all its forms, mainly crisps and vodka!

QUESTION SIXTEEN : Favourite book?

I have always referenced ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ when I get asked this question. Read it years ago so should probably read it again to make sure it stacks up. Will let you know how I get on.

QUESTION SEVENTEEN : What is the best present you have ever received? Who gave it to you and why was it so special?

My husband took me to Paris for my 40th birthday. Generally, I plan pretty much everything in our lives (total control freak) so it was such a lovely surprise and we had the best time.

QUESTION EIGHTEEN : What’s your go-to dish when you have to make dinner?

My version of a Lasagne (nothing like the Italians but still scrumptious) or a proper home cooked Roast Dinner (probably Lamb)

QUESTION NINETEEN : Who would be your dream dinner party guests, name three (alive or dead)

Avoiding the intellectual options here and going purely for a fun night:

Greg Davies – his stories on the Graham Norton show are legendary

Melissa McCarthy – also super funny but seems like a cool lady to hang out with

Chris Hemsworth – I mean come on!

QUESTION TWENTY : What advice would you give the teenage/child you?

Don’t get so hung up on what people think. I learned at a much later stage that the opinions you should listen too are the from the people you respect the most and push to one side those from the randoms of this world.

Oh, and don’t have that the last pint of cider at your friends party when you were 17, you will be really unwell and will never be able to drink Cider ever again…yuk.
